A multidisciplinary project where the goal was to design a biomedical device in conjunction with a company. Our device was designed to deliver a bolus of oxygen to patients at the onset of inspiration. With the intended market of suffers of COPD or other respiratory related conditions. Rather than using a traditional constant supply of oxygen to the patient, this inline device detects & predicts breathing to deliver a puff of oxygen at the most effective time.
With the flip of a switch the user can toggle between continuous and predictive oxygen delivery. Decreased oxygen consumption leads to long term savings, ability to use smaller tanks and improved quality of life.
